How to price a gang sheet without leaving money on the table
Most shops underprice gang sheets by treating the sheet as the unit. The real unit is usable square inches.
Start with the cost floor
Our 22"×24" sheet costs us roughly $14 in film, ink, and press time. Whatever margin you want sits on top of that floor — it's not optional.
Charge by usable area, not nominal area
A 22×24 sheet only nests about 480 usable square inches once you account for cut margins and design spacing. Quote $0.10–$0.12 per usable inch and you're set.
Bundle pricing for repeat customers
Offer 10% off on standing orders of 4+ sheets a month. The recurring revenue is worth more than the margin.
The rule we use
We round up to the next half-sheet increment. A customer needing 13" of length pays for 12 or 24 — never 13. It keeps quoting fast and our margins predictable.
